Safer Neighbourhoods Stronger Communities

Expired: Cathkin Neighbourhood Watch meet and greet coffee afternoon

Cathkin Neighbourhood Watch held a meet and greet coffee afternoon so residents of the area could meet their local Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator and hear all about Neighbourhood Watch.

Around 20 residents attended their local meet and greet coffee afternoon on Saturday 14th January.  More were expected but unfortunately due to the weather and football games a number of neighbours were unable to attend. It was however a really good afternoon.

The aim of the event was for residents to meet their Coordinator and get to know what he does in the community.  The get together was intended to bring local residents together and build on community spirit and for elderly residents to come and meet new friends and combat loneliness. Materials were also provided by Neighbourhood Watch Scotland, Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service – these were handed out to attendees.

The Coordinator gave a short speech about local issues in the community and took questions.  He spoke about arranging future events such as community residents meeting run by himself and attended by local councillors and community police officers.

We look forward to hearing more about the exciting future plans of this Neighbourhood Watch Group.
