Please see below advice which will be published on our Facebook page today. We have at least one pickpocket operating in Dundee City Centre, but be aware they do often operate as teams. Most victims are elderly females, and they appear to be targeting persons with backpacks. Please ask your staff to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police.

Following a number of reported pickpocketing offences in Dundee City Centre, please share this information with members of family and friends, particularly the elderly, who may be going into the City Centre, while we progress ongoing enquiries.
Remember:-
Be alert when in retail premises.
Keep purses/wallets secure in front pockets or bags in front of your body.
Do not keep in backpacks, even if zipped.
if someone in a shop is paying you too much attention or trying distraction techniques shout for a staff member to assist.
