Kinross-shire & Almond & Earn Community Policing – July 2026
Hello all,
July’s update from us will be considerably shorter than other months as PC Samson spent a large portion on annual leave, enjoying the sun in Greece..and maybe one or two well-earned beers…
Please see below for an update from us in relation to Community Policing across the electoral wards of Kinross-shire and a large portion of Almond and Earn.
As before, some of our duties get posted about on ‘Police Scotland Tayside’ social media accounts and we also provide reports for our 8 community councils, to include in their meetings which cover incidents of note and Police activity in the specific areas.
Below is some of our activities in July –
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Following reports to us of anti-social behaviour in Abernethy, we carried out patrols in the village, traced and spoke to 4 youths that were identified for knocking at and kicking doors. They were dealt with accordingly.
Attended Glenfarg Community Council meeting.
On Tuesday 21st July, PC Duncan attended “Magnitude”; an annual 5-day Christian Youth Festival for young people aged 11-18 years, held at Lendrick Muir near Kinross. It is attended by various youth organisations from across Scotland and was a huge success, totalling around 2300 attendees. We had a great time chatting to all the different groups and even got to meet a group who had come across from America to support the event. (Picture attached).
We have had recent reports of scrambler / dirt bikes in the Keltybridge, Fruix and Gairneybridge area. We have been carrying out extra patrols in relation to this.
CRIME
Dealing with a neighbourhood dispute in the Blairadam area, resulting in 1 male being issued with a Recorded Police Warning for a threatening or abusive behaviour offence.
Assisting colleagues by taking part in a ‘week of action’ against domestic abuse preparators, arresting and charging outstanding offenders for offences that have occurred in our Policing area.
TRAINING
PC Duncan attended her annual taser refresher course.
She also attended a blue light response driving course.
OTHER
Policing at Doof In The Park in Dundee & the Senior Open at Gleneagles.
Along with colleagues in South Perthshire CPT, we held bike marking events in Crieff, Auchterarder, Bridge of Earn & Kinross. This is crime prevention tool used against the theft of bikes. For more information, see the bike register website – https://www.bikeregister.com/ .
