INFORMATION APPEAL/COMMUNITY AWARENESS – Aberfoyle
Over the past few weeks there has been an increase in acquisitive crime in the Aberfoyle area. A synopsis of each incident as below:
On Thursday 6th August 2026 a theft by housebreaking occurred in the Aberfoyle area whereby unknown offenders smashed a glass door to gain entry to the locus and steal jewellery from within.
On Thursday 6th August 2026 a theft occurred in the Aberfoyle area whereby a male unknown has entered the garden of a residential property and stolen a bike.
On Saturday 8th August 2026 persons unknown have entered an unlocked vehicle within the Aberfoyle area and rummaged through the vehicle. Nothing was stolen from within.
On Saturday 8th August 2026 persons unknown have entered an unlocked vehicle within the Aberfoyle area and stolen property from within.
On Friday 14th August 2026 an unknown person was spotted in the vicinity of an isolated property in the Aberfoyle area. It is unclear what the persons intentions were but due to the time of night the working theory is that they were intent on committing theft.
You local Police Officers are continuing to investigate these reports and are asking members of the community to be vigilant, ensure property, outbuildings and vehicles are locked and secure.
Please consider installing CCTV cameras, Video Doorbells, PIR Lighting and signage around your property to warn off any would-be offenders.
