About 9 Alert 9 Cyberbyte June 2025

Hello and I trust this email finds you well.

I am often asked who is responsible for Cyber Security and I have to say that we all have a duty of care to protecting ourselves from harm. One of the best ways to do that is through awareness, awareness of what could cause harm and of course awareness on what we can do to protect ourselves from that harm.

One of the fundamental aspects of the Cyberbyte is to provide that awareness and guidance.

Our login user accounts provide us with direct access to a device, network, and systems. Whether privately or depending on your role within an organisation, your access to the network could be enhanced to allow you to function more efficiently but regardless of that, if we don’t protect our login access, especially if we leave our device un-attended and our login user account un-locked, we have created Cyber Security vulnerability for ourselves and for our organisation. So, it is essential we exercise that awareness and lock our user login account when we leave our devices un-attended.

This month’s Cyberbyte provides some hints on how to protect your user login account instantly. As usual, please feel free to share with your family, friends, and other contacts.

Kind regards,

Gordy.
