About 9 Alert 9 BT Digital Voice and NWS Information Event – Newcastleton : Tue 14 Oct 10:30

Dear {FIRST_NAME},

On behalf of the BT Digital Voice programme the Neighbourhood Watch Scotland (NWS) Team will be at Newcastleton & District Community Trust, Buccleuch House, 4 South Hermitage Street, Newcastleton TD9 0QR, on Tuesday 14 October 2025, from 10:30am to 2pm.

At 11am BT will host a live webinar at the centre, explaining:

• What’s happening with the digital landline switchover

• Details of the National Telecare Campaign

• Information about the BT Connected-Together Campaign

This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about these changes and ask any questions before the transition takes place in your area. The Neighbourhood Watch Scotland team will be available afterwards to answer any further questions you may have about the digital landline switchover. They will also provide information about Neighbourhood Watch Scotland, including how to join or start a Watch, the benefits of getting involved, and details about the free Neighbourhood Alert information system.

In case you are unable to attend here is some helpful information on The National Telecare campaign, BT Connected-Together campaign as well as a copy of A guide to Digital Voice:

  • The ‘National Telecare’ campaign relates to customers that use a telecare device such as personal alarms, pendant alarms, lifeline devices and home care monitoring systems. It is important that they take action to ensure that their equipment is compatible with the new digital technology. While many modern telecare systems are designed to work with both traditional and digital landlines, older models may require upgrades or replacements. Users should be encouraged to contact their landline provider for support as soon as possible. Further information is available at: Digital Phone Switchover
  •

  • The BT Connected-Together campaign encourages friends, family, colleagues, neighbours to help support vulnerable members of the community through the switch and helping them to understand why it is happening, and how to prepare. The BT website can be found here: Connected Together – All-IP – About BT | BT Plc
  •

Anyone who needs extra support to make the switch to Digital Voice, should register for this using the BT webform. An engineer will then be made available to assist them with transition. The BT guide is available here:  a-guide-to-digital-voice-July-25.pdf

    Kind regards,

    The Neighbourhood Watch Team
