Happy Friday from all of us at Neighbourhood Watch Scotland! We hope you’ve had a great week so far.
Today, we had a fantastic time at the Troon Banking Hub, speaking to wonderful people from Troon and the surrounding towns and villages.
We were joined by our colleagues from Police Scotland and South Ayrshire Trading Standards, who shared valuable advice on fraud, scams, and TrueCall—a free call blocker for individuals living with dementia or cognitive impairment. A limited number of free call blockers are also available for those with long-term conditions that are worsened by nuisance or scam calls.

Police Scotland also highlighted awareness around the Herbert Protocol and provided advice on how people affected by dementia can avoid becoming victims of crime, particularly scams, frauds and doorstep crime. The Herbert Protocol is a tool which family members and carers can use if their loved ones go missing.

A huge thank you to the amazing staff at the Troon Banking Hub—including the Cash Access UK Customer Liaison Officer—who made everyone feel welcome and supported. We affectionately called it the ‘Happiness Hub’ for a reason!
Thanks also to everyone who stopped by to learn more about starting a Neighbourhood Watch and the benefits of signing up for the free Neighbourhood Alert system.
Together, we’re building safer, more connected communities.
