Divisional Commander Award and Recognition Ceremony

 

Tayside Divisional Commander, Chief Superintendent Nicola Russell was delighted to host the annual Divisional Commander Award and Recognition Ceremony at Perth Civic Hall on Thursday 6 March. 
Award winners including police officers, support staff and volunteer special constables were recognised for their exceptional contributions in service delivery to the people of Tayside.

 

Drugs Recovery – Three Men Charged

Three men have been arrested and charged following the recovery of cannabis valued at around £211,000 in Perthshire.

The seizure took place at a premises in the Balgowan area, around 11.30am on Tuesday, 4 March, 2025.
Two of the men – aged 25 and 41 – appeared at Perth Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 5 March. The third man – aged 41 – is expected to appear at court on Friday, 7 March, 2025.

Detective Inspector Simon Murray, from Perth CID, said: “I’d like to thank the public for their assistance with our enquiries into this matter.

“Drug misuse brings nothing but misery to our communities and I want to reassure the people of Perthshire and the wider Tayside area that we will continue to use every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove these illegal substances from the community.”

 

Multi Agency Health and Wellbeing Day

 

Perth’s Partnerships, Interventions and Preventions team were delighted to take part in a multi-agency Health and Wellbeing day with S2 students at Crieff High School recently. 

The theme of the day was “Connection”. This included conversations and inputs around difficult issues such as County Lines, Gang Culture and Knife Crime. 

Sgt Allan Neary supported the special guest speaker Kevin Neary. Kevin Neary is the co-founder of Aid & Abet and co-author of The Good Prison Officer. Kevin spoke about his personal experiences in the criminal justice system, drugs and alcohol addiction and relationships. Kevin captured the attention of all with his lived experience and insight. 

Partners involved included the School Nurse Service, Logos, Safer Communities, Lighthouse, Hillcrest and WRASAC.

 

Community Engagement – Blairgowrie

 

 

The Blairgowrie Community Policing Team, along with various partner agencies, are holding an information and engagement event to be held on Saturday 22nd March 2025 between 10am and 3pm at The Wellmeadow, Blairgowrie.

Members of the community are invited to come along and speak to the groups in attendance to hear about what they do and what support/advice they can provide.

Some of the groups already attending to the event include:
-Scottish Fire and Rescue Service
-Strathmore Centre for Youth Development
-Perth and Kinross Council Safer Communities
-Home Energy Scotland
-Trading Standards
-Scottish Partnership Against Rural Crime

Request for Information

We are carrying out enquiries following the theft of a Stihl saw which happened between 1030am and 11am on Monday 3rd March at the Muirs, Kinross.

Anyone with information by means of eye witness or security camera footage is asked to please contact Kinross Community Officers on 101, quoting incident 1495 of 3rd March 2025.

A vehicle parked in Stroma Court, Perth was damaged whilst being parked during the evening of 2nd March 2025. This is under investigation and currently being treated as a vandalism.

A mirror was stolen from the bottom of a driveway in Isla Road, Perth overnight on 2nd March 2025. This is being investigated as a theft.

A jumper was stolen from changing rooms in UHI Perth on 3rd March 2025. The incident is being treated as a theft and is under investigation.

Items including aftershave and money were stolen from a vehicle which was parked in Morris Court, Perth overnight on 7th March 2025. Investigation is ongoing into the matter.

A 38 year old woman has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal after she was found to be speeding at 90mph in a 50mph zone on the A9 at Luncarty on 1st March 2025.

A 20 year old woman will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal after she was found to be speeding at 99mph on the A90 at Crook of Devon on 1st March 2025

A 21 year old male was charged with a number of driving offences after a collision in the Drum area on 8th March 2025 – this includes drink driving, dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident. A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal and the driver will appear at court.
