Home Fire Safety Visits – Keep Yourself and Loved Ones Safe

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) offers free Home Fire Safety Visits to help people stay safe in their homes — especially those most at risk of fire.

During a visit, SFRS staff can:
Assess fire risks in the home
Provide personalised safety advice
Fit or check smoke alarms where eligible
Help identify and reduce other risks of unintentional injury

These visits are friendly, supportive, and designed to help people live more safely and confidently at home.

Book a Visit for Someone Else
If you’re concerned about a friend, neighbour, or family member, you can request a visit on their behalf (with their consent) by completing the Home Fire Safety Questionnaire.

Information for Partners
If you work with people who may benefit from extra support, you can find guidance on how to refer individuals to SFRS.
