Shut Out Scammers Event - Edinburgh

Staff from Neighbourhood Watch Scotland were in Edinburgh today as part of the Nationwide Shut Out Scammers Campaign where they joined local Community officers from Police Scotland and colleagues from the City of Edinburgh Trading Standards and Age Scotland.

It was great to speak to so many people who were out in Edinburgh enjoying the wonderful weather, where we got the opportunity to provide information on Neighbourhood Watch Scotland, including how to get involved and receive Neighbourhood Alerts, whilst colleagues provided useful information to help members of the public avoid doorstep scams with better knowledge around fraud, and scam prevention.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to speak to us. It was great to see the interest from people wishing to start Neighbourhood Watches in their areas and to see the interest in Neighbourhood Alert, which is free and helps keep communities informed and connected.
