We had a fantastic day at the Overgate Shopping Centre in Dundee celebrating National Volunteers’ Week and meeting lots of members of the public, who were interested to learn how to start a new watch and also to hear more about our free Neighbourhood Alert information system.
Local community officers from Police Scotland also joined us and were able to provide helpful advice and crime prevention information.
A huge thank you to the Neighbourhood Watch Scotland volunteer coordinator, who took the time to visit us today. It was great to meet you and hear all about your watch and how you are supporting others.
Thanks also to Dundee Councillor Lynne Short, who kindly came along to meet the team. We really appreciate you taking the time to visit us.
Another thank you goes to our NWS Chair who attended and who was able to chat with local residents and coordinators about community safety in Dundee.
And our final thanks goes to staff from the Overgate Shopping Centre for hosting us. What a great venue and as always, we were warmly received.
It’s estimated that nearly 2.1 million people across Scotland volunteer in a formal or informal capacity.
What an incredible number…..and so to our NWS volunteers and indeed all volunteers nationwide, thank you so much for everything you do.
