NWS / E.ON Information Event

A big thank you to the Dumfries and Galloway Council Community Safety team for having us along yesterday, to speak with members of the public about how to start a new Neighbourhood Watch and the benefits of signing up to the free Neighbourhood Alert information system. It was great to join partners from Police Service of Scotland, Dumfries and Galloway Council Community Safety team, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Loreburn Housing Association. We spoke with lots of wonderful people, from the local area as well as some visiting from South Lanarkshire.

We were also able to speak with people who may be impacted by the Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) switch off on the 30 June 2025. This will affect households that use an older electricity meter for heating their home and for hot water, with some types of electricity meters needing changed. Neighbourhood Watch Scotland are partnering with E.ON Next to help reach the communities most likely to be affected and are helping to raise awareness of this issue in Scotland.

More about the RTS switch off can be found at : https://neighbourhoodwatchscotland.co.uk/…/energy…
