About 9 News 9 NWS / E.ON Information Event – Motherwell

A big thank you to Motherwell Shopping Centre for having us along today, to speak with members of the public about how to start a new Neighbourhood Watch and also the benefits of signing up to the free Neighbourhood Alert information system.

We spoke with lots of lovely people, despite the challenges of strong winds blowing our leaflets far and wide! A special mention to our four legged friend Ollie, who despite being only 19 months old, was beautifully behaved as we chatted with his owners.

We were also able to speak with people who may be impacted by the Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) switch off on the 30 June 2025.This will affect households that use an older electricity meter for heating their home and for hot water, with some types of electricity meters needing changed. Neighbourhood Watch Scotland are partnering with E.ON Next to help reach the communities most likely to be affected and are helping to raise awareness of this issue in Scotland.

Further information about the RTS switch off can be found at: https://neighbourhoodwatchscotland.co.uk/…/energy…
