The Neighbourhood Watch Scotland (NWS) team had a fantastic time at Asda Glasgow Parkhead Forge Superstore earlier today, speaking with members of the public about how to start a Neighbourhood Watch and the benefits of signing up for the free Neighbourhood Alert system.
We also spoke with individuals who may be affected by the upcoming Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) switch-off on 30 June 2025. This change will impact households using older electricity meters for heating and hot water, with some meters needing to be replaced. NWS is proud to partner with E.ON Next to raise awareness and support those most likely to be affected across Scotland.
During the event we met so many inspiring people from the surrounding areas who shared stories of their community efforts—from knitting cardigans and hats for children and neonatal units to looking out for family, friends, and neighbours. A special thanks to everyone including Christine from St Paul’s Senior Citizens Club, who took away a selection of NWS and E.ON information leaflets to share with their groups, clients, and neighbours.
