Napier University Welcome Week Event - Edinburgh Corn Exchange

We had a fantastic and busy time today at the Napier University Welcome Week event, held at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh, alongside our partners from Police Scotland Prevention, Intervention, and Partnerships Team.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and spoke with Neighbourhood Watch Scotland (NWS) and Police! The team shared information about NWS and the Neighbourhood Alert system, handed out free safety and security products to support students while out and about, and offered helpful advice on key topics, including:

🚲 Bike security
🛡️ Personal safety
🚫 How to avoid scams
🚌 Using public transport
📞 How to contact Police Scotland when needed

We also distributed leaflets and information about the upcoming BT Digital Voice changeover and the Telecare Campaign, helping raise awareness of these important changes:
It was great to see such strong interest in the Neighbourhood Alert system, with one person signing up before they even left our stand!

We also enjoyed connecting with other organisations supporting students both on campus and in the wider community, including:

• Edinburgh Napier University Security

• Edinburgh Crisis Centre – Offering support to anyone experiencing a mental health crisis:   https://edinburghcrisiscentre.org.uk/

• Street Assist Edinburgh – Providing welfare, first aid and support between 10pm and 4am
on Friday and Saturday nights to help keep people safe across the city:
