Today we were at Moray House Campus for our final student safety event, held as part of Welcome Week, alongside partners from the University of Edinburgh Security Section and Police Scotland Edinburgh Prevention, Intervention, and Partnerships.
Throughout the event, we shared valuable information about Neighbourhood Watch Scotland (NWS) and the Neighbourhood Alert system, while distributing free safety and security products to support students.
Our colleagues from the University of Edinburgh Security Section also provided practical advice and resources to help students feel confident and prepared as they navigate university life and explore the city. Topics covered included:
🛡️ Personal safety
🚫 Scam prevention
📞 How to contact University Security when needed
It was a pleasure to connect with students and the dedicated university teams supporting them, including Student Advisers, Disability and Learning Support Service, and Report and Support staff.
A big thank you to everyone who stopped by it was fantastic to see such strong interest in Neighbourhood Watch Scotland and the Neighbourhood Alert system!
We also distributed leaflets and information about the upcoming BT Digital Voice changeover and the Telecare Campaign, helping raise awareness of these important changes:
