Volunteers' Week / E.ON Next Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) switch-off - Information Event

🎉 We had a fantastic time at the Meadows Festival in Edinburgh on Saturday, joined by colleagues from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, E.ON Next, and the Chair of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland to celebrate Volunteers’ Week and raise awareness about the upcoming Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) switch-off on 30th June.

The NWS team shared information about the benefits of joining or starting a Neighbourhood Watch, and encouraged sign-ups to the free Neighbourhood Alert system, which keeps communities informed about local incidents and events through trusted sources.

⚡We were especially pleased to welcome the Metering Partnership Manager from E.ON Next who provided valuable advice about the RTS switch-off, helping ensure no one is left without heating or hot water. It was a pleasure to meet you in person!

A heartfelt thank you to all the Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators and volunteers from the Edinburgh area who stopped by. It was inspiring to hear about the incredible work you’re doing in your communities. We especially enjoyed meeting a new Coordinator who recently launched a Watch in Edinburgh.

Your dedication makes a real difference—thank you for everything you do throughout the year!

A huge thank you to the fabulous team of volunteers at the Meadows Festival Edinburgh. Your hard work and commitment in organising this event each year is truly appreciated. We were honoured to be part of your 50th anniversary celebrations, and we’re especially grateful for the warm welcome and support you gave us on the day.
