We had a fantastic time today at Heriot-Watt University, where we joined our partners from Police Scotland Edinburgh Prevention, Intervention, and Partnerships for the International Student Welcome Event.
It was a lively and well-attended occasion, giving us the opportunity to meet some incredible students, learn about their studies, and hear their personal stories. We also had the pleasure of connecting with the dedicated teams who will be supporting them throughout their time at university, including Student Wellbeing Services, the Chaplaincy, and Student Advisors.
Our colleagues shared valuable advice on a range of important topics, such as how to avoid scams, navigate transport options around Edinburgh, and stay safe while out and about. They also explained how to contact Police Scotland if needed, helping students feel more confident and informed as they settle into life in the city.
A big thank you to everyone who spoke with us, it was great to see such strong interest in Neighbourhood Watch Scotland and the Neighbourhood Alert information system.
