We had a fabulous time today with members of Beith Orr Park Neighbourhood Watch at the Garnock Valley Carves event, held at the all-new Wilson’s Auctions exhibition ground in Dalry. Despite the rainy weather, the event drew a fantastic crowd and showcased spectacular chainsaw wood carvings that truly impressed.
There were plenty of activities for children, including:
• 🎨 Face painting
• 🎲 Kids’ games
• 📚 Storytelling sessions
• 🧒 Children’s activity zone
Interactive stalls offered hands-on experiences, from wood carving and turning workshops to outdoor woodland crafts. A special highlight was the motorbike display by Stevenston & District Motorcycle Club.
🚑 First Aid was provided by the incredible volunteers from Coast Watch Irvine, who work tirelessly 365 days a year to help keep people safe what a team!
A huge thank you to Norrie Brown, Chair of Beith Orr Park Neighbourhood Watch, along with Rose and all the volunteers for their warm welcome and support. Their passion, motivation, and hard work made this a truly fantastic community event, enjoyed by everyone who attended. Special thanks also to the volunteers handing out free warm drinks it was much appreciated!
We had the pleasure of meeting lovely people from the Beach Hub Ardeer, a vibrant community café and hub in Stevenston, and were grateful for the support of the Police Scotland Youth Volunteers (PSYV) Ayrshire, whose fabulous work helped make the day a success.
We also shared information about the digital landline switchover, which we hope was helpful.

🐾 We couldn’t leave out Walter, a gorgeous Golden Retriever pup who brought a huge smile to everyone he met he was definitely one of the stars of the day!
