Neighbourhood Watch Scotland was delighted to attend the Letham4All Community BBQ, bringing together local residents, community groups and partners for an enjoyable afternoon in the heart of the community.
With excellent weather and a fantastic turnout, the event provided a great opportunity to meet local people, share information and promote initiatives that help keep communities safe, informed and connected.
Throughout the afternoon, we spoke to many residents who were interested in joining Neighbourhood Alert, our free messaging service which shares trusted and timely information from organisations including Police Scotland, local authorities and other community safety partners.
We were also raising awareness of BT’s Digital Voice programme, helping people understand the upcoming landline switchover, the support available for those who may need additional assistance, and how to stay vigilant against scams linked to the transition. It was a pleasure to meet Councillor John Rebbeck, who was busy serving burgers and supporting the event, helping to create such a welcoming atmosphere for everyone attending.
A special thank you goes to Arlene, who recently established a new Neighbourhood Watch in Letham, and Karina, Community Development Worker. Their dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to supporting local people is making a real difference within the community. Through their work at The Hub in Letham, they continue to build strong local connections and deliver a wide range of activities and events that bring people together. The success of the BBQ was a testament to their hard work and the strength of community spirit in Letham.
