Today we visited the Newcastleton & District Community Trust at Buccleuch House in beautiful Newcastleton to speak with local residents about Neighbourhood Watch Scotland.
We loved sharing:
• Information about Neighbourhood Watch and how to get
involved
• The benefits of signing up for free Neighbourhood Alerts
• How we work with partners like Police Scotland, SFRS, and Trading
Standards Scotland to keep communities informed and safe
During the event, BT hosted a live webinar on the Digital Landline Switchover, including vital advice for Telecare users. Many rural residents have shared their concerns around connectivity, and it was great to see some of those questions addressed.
If you or someone you know uses a telecare device (e.g. personal alarms, lifeline devices), it’s important to check compatibility with the new digital system. Contact your landline provider to ensure continued support.
Huge thanks to the staff at Newcastleton & District Community Trust for hosting and making everyone feel so welcome. What a fabulous community space where people can come together, connect, and take part in a variety of groups and activities as well as speak to the Bank of Scotland community banker.
The Trust truly highlights the power of connection, friendship, and community support. It was also a pleasure to connect with colleagues from Scottish Borders Council and Sustainable Borders during the event.
