There have been a number of thefts of quad bikes and equipment from farms across the Scottish Borders.
Incident Number: 20250524 -4049
About 2215 hours on Saturday 24th May 2025, a red Honda quad bike was stolen from a farm located south of Jedburgh. The suspect was seen riding away at speed – described as about 5ft 6, slight build about 9 stone, Black tourie (Hat/Balaclava), Light Coloured T-Shirt, Black Ski Salopettes

Overnight between Sunday 25th and Monday 26th May 2025, unknown persons have gained entry to a shed at a farm located south of Grantshouse near to A6112 and have stolen a number of Milwaukee power tools valued at over £3000.

About 0300 hours on Tuesday 27th May 2025, 3 persons have stolen a green Suzuki LT-A750XPM2 quad bike from a farm located north of Auchencrow near to the A1.

About 0100 hours on Tuesday 27th May 2025, 3 persons have forced entry to buildings at a farm located south of Grantshouse near to the A6112 and A1 and stolen a red Honda TRX500 along with 3 Stihl chainsaws.

Overnight between Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th May 2025, a white Mitsubishi L200 pickup was stolen from a farm located south of Grantshouse near to the A1. This vehicle has subsequently been traced by police..

About 2350 hours on Wednesday 28th May 2025, an unknown male has attempted to steal 2 red Honda quad bikes at a farm located north of Westruther. A white VW Crafter van and possibly a white Ford Transit Connect van were seen in the area at the time.

Overnight between Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th May 2025, unknown persons have gained entry to a shed at a farm located south of Hawick near to A6088 and have stolen 2 chainsaws valued at over £3000.

• Consider a robust physical security device such as the SUIP protector and secure the building they are stored in.
• Don’t leave keys in or near your quads.
• Install trackers.
