About 9 Alert 9 Police Scotland – Community Information Event

Dementia Action Week runs this week, 18 – 24 May, and as part of this Kinross based community officers, PC’s Samson and Duncan, from South Perthshire Community Policing Team, will be raising awareness of the Herbert Protocol.

The Herbert Protocol is a UK wide recognised scheme that focuses on people living with dementia who may be at risk of going missing. The main aim is for the Herbert Protocol form to be completed in advance so that significant information is recorded and readily available for Police in the event of someone going missing.

This week, PC’s Samson and Duncan, will be visiting numerous places to spread awareness of the protocol, targeting areas where there is a higher chance of the form being required. As well as carrying out these specific visits, the officers will also be holding the following drop-in sessions for anyone to attend:

Friday 22nd May

1700 – 1800 hrs at Giacopazzi’s, Kinross

Saturday 23rd May

1700 – 1800 hrs at Giacopazzi’s, Milnathort

Please feel free to pop in and speak to the officers about the Herbert Protocol and collect a form.
