Hi Everyone

Unfortunately, more and more people are being caught out by investment scams.

These often start online with an advert from an investment company offering deals that may seem too good to be true – high returns on your investment for low risk.

Sometime celebrities may appear to be endorsing investment companies but often these are AI (artificial intelligence) generated images and videos.

Often fraudulent companies will apply pressure to encourage you to invest money – stressing the high returns for low risk or pressuring you to invest more and more money, perhaps suggesting you take out a loan to invest. 

 

No reputable company will pressure you into making quick decisions. 

 

Research the company you are considering, for example check they are registered with the 

Financial Conduct Authority – www.fca.org.uk

The FCA regulate financial services firms in the UK – setting standards and holding companies to account

You may also want to check the company is covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme – www.fsca.org.uk

This scheme can pay compensation if registered companies go out of business.
