About 9 Alert 9 Edinburgh officers continue to tackle retail crime

The Retail Crime Task Force in Edinburgh continue to work with partners, CCTV and local officers to arrest those who commit retail crime. 

 

In Leith, plain clothes store detectives traced a male wanted for a series of shopliftings. Officers arrested this male and he will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on 4th April charged with 39 crimes including theft shoplifting, offences against retail workers, housebreaking and bail offences.

 

In a separate incident Retail Crime Task Force officers responded to information received regarding males hiding stolen property near Lothian Road. £300 worth of stolen property was recovered and returned to the owner, two males were arrested and charged with 7 offences of theft shoplifting. 

 

Theft by Shoplifting is #NotAVictimlessCrime and the #Retailcrimetaskforce are committed to deterring, disrupting, and arresting those who commit retail crime.
