Blairgowrie: Cycling Close Pass Awareness
Recently, Blairgowrie Community Police Officers Ryan Tarbet and Robbie Blackhall along with their Roads Policing colleagues Constables Lee Buckley and Sarah Rowe took part in a cycling close pass awareness event in Blairgowrie. Numerous vehicles were stopped and advice given regarding the safe minimum distances (1.5 metres) when overtaking cyclists.
Appeal for Information
Police are appealing for information after a quadbike was stolen from a house in Luncarty on Saturday, 18 January, 2025.
Around 1.40am, a black and light-blue Yamaha Raptor with the registration number SP73 BPE was stolen from the driveway of a house on The Crescent, Luncarty. The first suspect is described as slim build and wearing a jacket with reflective rectangle shapes on the front and the hood.
He was wearing dark-coloured trainers. The second suspect is described as slim build and wearing a dark-coloured jacket and light-coloured trousers.”
The suspects used light-coloured Audi, possibly an A3.
Constable Darren Petrie said: “Enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone with any information that may assist our enquiries to contact us through 101 quoting incident number 1207 of 18 January.

A vehicle parked in Cornhill Road, Perth, reported having the rear registration plate removed overnight on 14th January 2025. This is being treated as a theft.

A camera doorbell was stolen from a property on Brahan Terrace, Perth during the afternoon of 18th January 2025. Enquiries into the matter are still ongoing.

Fire damage to a grassed area has been reported at Balvaird Castle, Glenfarg which occurred sometime in the last 3-4 months.

A 28 year old male was charged with a number of driving offences including no valid licence, no insurance and driving on a pathway after he was stopped by Police in the Letham area of Perth on 7th January 2025. He was travelling on a battery-powered bicycle which was found to fall within the definition of a motor vehicle. The bike was then seized by Police.

A 33 year old male was charged with speeding and driving without insurance after his vehicle was found to be travelling at 91mph on the M90 on 12th January 2025. The matter will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

A 46 year old female will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal for speeding after her vehicle was observed to be travelling at 49mph ia 30mph zone in Aberuthven on 17th January 2025.

A 25 year old male will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal after he was found to be driving whilst disqualified and to be more than 4 times the legal alcohol limit whilst driving a vehicle on the M90 on 25th January 2025
Joint Operation – Trading Standards and Kinross Community
On Monday 13th January 2025, following concerns from members of the public about underage consumption of age restricted products in the Kinross area, Community Constables Samson and Duncan were joined by Trading Standards Officers.
A number of licensed premises were visited, reminding them of their legal responsibilities and offering support in relation to any issues regarding underage sales.
