About 9 Alert 9 Toyota Hilux

Good morning all,

Haven’t messaged the group in a while, I try not to bombard you with things you don’t really need to be aware of. With this in mind, I believe its worth letting you all know of a recent crime trend, which you may or may not already be aware of.

Within the last week or so, a Toyota Hilux was stolen (method of theft still to be confirmed) from a Car Sales premises in Tayside (not Dundee) and later the same day used to commit a high value theft of an ATM nearby. The vehicle has been recovered and returned to the premises. It is believed that both thefts were committed by a highly Organised Crime Group who may have committed an almost identical crime in the Glasgow area recently.

If you have any Hilux or similar vehicles on your forecourts, please ensure they, and their keys/fobs, are kept as secure as they can be. Tracking of keys is vital in preventing this crime type, but is something that can often be overlooked during busy days for yourselves..

If anyone in the group has info regarding the above thefts of Hilux’s or wishes to receive further security advice, please feel free to get in touch. It will just be myself who see’s your message, not other group members. Likewise, if you have other premises in Tayside who would be keen to join this group, please let me know and I’ll arrange this.

Many Thanks
