Dear {FIRST_NAME},
“VEHICLE SEIZURES – ALLOA”
Officers from the Clackmannanshire Community Policing Team dedicated time to patrol local roads to target road traffic offending across the county. Some of these matters related to concerns which local officers were made aware of as detailed below:
About 2040hrs, 18th June 2025, Constables Smith, Easton and Kouassi were on mobile patrol within the Alloa area. At this time Constable Smith and Easton observed a motor vehicle which the driver had been previously stopped and reported for driving with no insurance and a provisional license. The vehicle was uplifted and seized by Police and the driver reported for multiple road traffic offences.
About 2100hrs, same date, the same officers observed another vehicle driving past them, the driver, waiving at the officers as he did so. The vehicle had been checked by an officer who was a short distance away from the location and it also had no valid insurance on the vehicle. Officers managed to intercept the vehicle a short distance away, stopping it and this vehicle was also uplifted and seized by Police with the driver being reported for this offence.
Constable Kouassi of Clackmannanshire Community Policing said “Police Service of Scotland routinely and pro-actively conduct both static and mobile vehicle checks, utilising a variety of equipment to ensure our Roads are safe and those committing offending are brought to Justice. Having the appropriate insurance in place for vehicles being used on a public road is extremely important and without this, not only are you committing an offence, however you contribute to the wider financial costs to all road users. We would like to remind persons that it is their legal obligation and responsibility as the driver of a vehicle, to ensure you are appropriately insured to drive said vehicle”
Police Service of Scotland would encourage all residents and members to report any Road Traffic concerns or vehicles of concern within your areas, to the DVLA, local authority, Police Service of Scotland, or your local Community Officer, which you can do via the below emails:
