Greetings from all at NWS We have good news to share and can now advise that we are partnering with E-on next to help circulate the message to as many people as possible about the Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) switch off, scheduled for 30th June 2025. It is vital that we spread this important message on the necessary upgrade and look out for the more vulnerable members of our communities to ensure that they are not adversely impacted by the switch off deadline. We seek your help to do this as widely as possible. We would be grateful if you could share the information below via your social media links such as WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn etc. We also have plenty of leaflets should you like these for local distribution (e.g. to your members, local community and health centres, libraries etc). If you would like a supply, please get in touch at info@neighbourhoodwatchscotland.co.uk (the leaflets are free and we will cover all postage costs). A summary of the forthcoming changes is contained below and you can find out more by visiting our website and/or joining one of our briefing sessions on Teams taking place on Wednesday 27th May 2025 at:
______________________________________________________________________ Some types of electricity meter (regardless of energy provider) need to be urgently upgraded. The Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) switch off is happening on 30th June 2025 and will affect households using an older electricity meter to heat their home and hot water. The implications of not upgrading the meter could mean that the heating and hot water may not work properly. Customers could find that that cannot switch on or switch off their system and could incur an increased bill as a result. TV presenter Lorraine Kelly explains more, catch the video: It is crucial that affected customers arrange for a smart meter to be fitted before the switch off on 30th June 2025. If you’re an E.ON Next customer and unsure whether RTS affects you visit the E-on next Website at: You can book an appointment directly on the website.
Should you still have questions and need to get in touch with E-on next, you can do this by: If you’re not an E.ON Next customer and use another energy provider, please see:
____________________________________________________________________ We hope that by sharing these messages with your various contacts, the changes will be made easier for those affected when the time comes. We will be hosting local events across the country over the coming weeks – pop along and join us if you can.
Thank you for your continued support. Best wishes, from your NWS Team.
