Celebrating Volunteers’ Week 2026

A huge thank you to our board and all our incredible Neighbourhood Watch Scotland volunteer coordinators for everything you do throughout the year. Your commitment truly makes a difference in communities across Scotland.

Volunteers’ Week (1–7 June 2026) is a time to recognise and celebrate the amazing contributions of volunteers, and we’re proud to stand alongside thousands of charities and organisations doing the same.

We would love to hear from you!

Tell us about what you’re getting involved in during Volunteers’ Week.

Your stories help us showcase the fantastic work happening in communities across Scotland on our website. Email us or use our contact form to share what you are up to and get involved!

As part of our activities throughout the week, the Neighbourhood Watch Scotland (NWS) team will be out and about.

Come along and meet the team! We’ll be showcasing the incredible work of our 8,225 members and sharing the benefits of Neighbourhood Alert, which is already helping over 35,000 people stay informed — all completely free. Let’s celebrate the power of community together!

We will be on-site to answer questions about Neighbourhood Watch Scotland, talk about how easy it is to get involved as a volunteer, and provide information on how to sign up to Neighbourhood Alert.

Below are the events we’ll be attending throughout the rest of the week. To stay up to date with any changes, be sure to follow us on Facebook and check the events calendar.

We celebrate Volunteers’ Week in June as part of the wider Month of Community. It provides a fantastic opportunity to bring our neighbourhoods closer together, give back, and recognise the incredible contribution volunteers make.

As a key part of the Month of Community, it shines a spotlight on the many ways people support one another whether that’s coordinating a Neighbourhood Watch group, caring for a loved one, volunteering their time to litter pick and improve local spaces, or simply looking out for a neighbour by helping with shopping or checking in regularly.

It’s a time to celebrate community spirit across the UK, as we come together to support each other, recognise everyday acts of kindness, and contribute to local causes.
