About 9 Alert 9 Strathyre Primary School speeding awareness event

For many communities, speeding is a priority, particularly in areas with 20mph speed limits.

On 15/05/2026 Strathyre Primary Junior Road Safety Officers joined with local community police officers for a speed awareness event in Main Street Strathyre.

The children had the opportunity to operate the speed gun to identify speeding drivers and, once stopped, question them about their driving behaviour.  Six vehicles were stopped and the occupants spoken to, but many more slowed on seeing the children in action.

A successful event to highlight safe driving within our villages.
