About 9 Alert 9 Anti-social behaviour intervention

Good afternoon all

Yesterday evening (06/05/2026) local Community and Response Police Officers intervened and prevented a large group of approximately 30 youths from travelling from Kirkcaldy to Dunfermline where they had planned to meet another group for a pre-arranged fight. This group was apprehended by police transported out of the area.

Police worked with partner agencies such as Scotrail, Kirkcaldy Bus Station, British Transport Police and Fife Council Safer Communities to tackle the ongoing dynamic incident.

Please rest assured that the public and wider community are safe and we will continue to tackle any anti-social behaviour head on and ensure Kirkcaldy and Fife is safe for all to enjoy.

Many thanks

Kirkcaldy Community Policing Team
