🚨 BEWARE OF BOGUS CALLERS 🚨

As the better weather is coming, please be aware of fake workmen knocking on doors, offering services or claiming urgent repairs are needed. Don’t be caught off guard – Stay alert and protect yourself.

 

🧰 Common tactics to watch for:
Claiming they were “working nearby or at a neighbours house” and they noticed an issue.
– Pressuring you into immediate decisions or cash payments at a reduced rate.
– Offering to give you a lift to your bank to take money out.
– Wearing high-vis jackets to appear legitimate
– Refusing to provided proper identification or paperwork.

 

⛔ How to protect yourself: 
– Always ask for ID and verify it before letting anyone in. 
– Never agree to on-the-spot work from unsolicited callers.
– Use trusted, pre-booked tradespeople.
– If in doubt, don’t open the door – speak through a window or doorbell system.
– Report suspicious activity to your local authorities.

 

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦  Look out for others- especially elderly neighbours who may be more vulnerable.
