FATAL FIRE Shortly before 1am on Tuesday 28th February 2023, emergency services were called to Shore Recycling on Friarton Road in Perth following reports of an explosion and fire, which tragically resulted in the death of one male.Chief Inspector Tom Leonard, Local Area Commander for Perth and Kinross, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died at what is a very difficult time for them. “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what has happened and officers are conducting a joint investigation with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. “I would like to thank members of the public, particularly road users, for their patience while our colleagues in the Scottish Fire and Rescue service worked to put out the fire. “Officers are continuing to liaise with other emergency services and partners while enquiries are carried out.” UPDATESOn Monday 13th February 2023, a 19 year old male was charged and reported to the Procurator Fiscal in relation to a break in to commercial premises in Inveralmond Industrial Estate, Perth which occurred on Wednesday 28th December 2022.On Thursday 9th February 2023, a 38 year old male was charged and reported to the Procurator Fiscal after a property on High Street, Perth had been broken into on Saturday 21st January 2023.About 10pm on Friday 24th February 2023, officers from our Divisional Road Policing Unit stopped a motor vehicle on Auld Bond Road, Perth and during the search a 17 year old male passenger was arrested and reported to the Procurator Fiscal for being in possession of cannabis, metal pole and a lock knife.About 11:55am, Saturday 25th February 2023, a motor vehicle was stopped at Ferguson Drive, Perth due to the manner of driving and a 43 year old was arrested in relation to driving whilst under the influence of alcohol. During the last week 7 drivers have been found to be without insurance, 2 had no MOT and 3 with no driving licence. RECENT INCIDENTSAbout 5pm on Sunday 28th February 2023 a property on Isla Road, Perth was broken into, damage caused to a garden items and several fire extinguishers let off. Suspects are described as three young males with two dressed in dark clothing and one wearing a grey tracksuit. (CR/23218/23).On Thursday 23rd February 2023 at 5:30pm, the living room window of a property on Bellfield Avenue, Perth was smashed. (CR/23619/23) Between 4:15pm and 6:15pm on Thursday 23rd February 2023 a wall on Earl’s Dykes, Perth was vandalised with graffiti (CR/24632/23) About 9pm on Saturday 25th February 2023 the bus stop on Mill Street, Perth was smashed. Suspect is described as white male, aged late teens, 5ft 10, stocky build, dark short hair and wearing a grey long sleeved top, blue shorts, trainers and white ankle socks (CR/24413/23)On Sunday 26th February 2023 at 5:30am a property on Mount Tabor Road, Perth was broken into and various items stolen from within. Suspects are two males who have been seen running from the area carrying red and dark coloured bags (CR/24702/23)Between 5am and 7am on Sunday 26th January 2023, a commercial premises on Argyll Road, Perth was broken into and a safe was stolen. Suspect is described as a white male, late 30’s to early 40’s, well built, 5ft 8 and wearing a North Face hoody, grey joggers and black Adidas sambo trainers. (CR/25943/23)Between 9:30am and 3pm on Wednesday 22nd February 2023 storage containers at Kettins Community Hub, Blairgowrie were vandalised with spray paint. Suspects are two white teenage males both with rucksacks (CR/25081/23)Between 4pm on Friday 24th February and 3:15am Saturday 25th February 2023 a large quantity of watches were stolen from a shop on High Street, Kinross after the premises was broken into. Suspect was wearing dark clothing, beanie hat and a head torch.
