Notification of essential gas works: Kelliebank area, Alloa


The following Alert is being circulated on behalf of SGN


We’re working to upgrade our gas network in the Kelliebank area of Alloa. 


In agreement with the local authority, our project will start on Monday 3 April and last approximately 12 months.


By upgrading our gas network in the area, we’ll continue to keep Alloa homes and businesses safe and warm long into the future.


We’re carrying out our work in five phases to minimise disruption to the local community as much as possible. 


Below are details of phases one and two of our project. We’ll update you with information on phases three and four when we’re closer to starting those sections of work. 


Phase one – approximately six weeks

During phase one of our project, we’ll be working in Kelliebank, Mitchell Crescent and Dirleton Gardens. 


Some parking restrictions and footway closures will be in place, and Mitchell Crescent will closed at its junction with Smithfield Road. A local diversion route will be in place for motorists.


Phase two – approximately seven weeks

During phase two of our project we’ll be working in Ludgate, Bedford Place, Broad Street, Coalgate, East Castle Street and Mull Court.


For the duration of our work, some parking restrictions and footpath closures will be in place. 


The junctions of Ludgate/Bedford Place, and Coalgate/Broad Street will also be closed and local diversion routes will be in place for motorists.


Our colleagues will be keeping to social distancing guidelines on our sites, and we’d ask communities to keep their distance too.
