The following Alert is being circulated on behalf of SGN
We’ll shortly begin work to upgrade our gas network on the A7, between Selkirk and Galashiels.
Our project will begin on Monday 10 July and take approximately 16 weeks to complete.
We’re carrying out this work now as a permanent solution to the recent emergency work we carried out in the A7 last year, reducing the risk of future disruption to the local community and motorists.
We know this is a busy route so we’ve planned our work in close consultation with BEAR Scotland and Transport Scotland. By carrying out our work in the summer months, we can work extended hours and weekends where possible.
Our work will be completed over three phases, shown in the map below and attached:
For the duration of our work, temporary traffic lights will be in place along with a speed restriction to ensure everyone’s safety around our work area.
During the weekends that we’re not working, our temporary traffic lights will be removed to reduce inconvenience for motorists.
We’re writing to other local stakeholders to make them aware of our project and explain the details of our work. Please feel free to also share this information with anyone you think may be impacted by our project.
