This Message is Distributed on Behalf of SGNDear {FIRST_NAME},I’m writing to let you know our plans to carry out a mains replacement project investing approx £162,000 in East Kilbride to ensure the local community continues to receive a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.EAST MAINS ROADStarting on 9 January 2023 for approximately eight weeks our engineers will be working to replace approximately 870m of old metallic gas main with new polyethylene PE pipe. To minimise disruption, we’ve worked closely with South Lanarkshire Council and Amey to plan any necessary traffic management. We know this is a busy road and will be implementing the phased approach below:Phase 1 – starting on 9 January 2023 for approx. 10 daysWe will start work between the Mavor Roundabout and the Markethill Roundabout and will have temporary traffic lights in operation.Phase 2 – approx. three weeksWe will be working on the B783 and will have a road closure north bound between Mavor Roundabout to St Kenneth’s Primary School. Markethill Road will also be closed between the Markethill Roundabout in both directions to the Law Roundabout.Phase 3 – approx. 10 daysWe will have a northbound closure from St Kenneth’s Primary School on East Mains Road to Markethill Road. During this phase Markethill Road will remain closed as in phase 2. We wish to assure you that our work will progress as quickly as possible and we’ll be doing everything we can to limit delays and disruption and to ensure the project remains on schedule, working extended hours and at weekends if required. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and we’ll ensure that temporary traffic lights will be manually controlled if necessary during peak periods. We’re writing to residents and other local stakeholders to make them aware of our project and explain the details of our work. Please feel free to also share this information with anyone you think may be impacted by our project. If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact me or our Customer Service Centre on 0800 912 1700 or email customer@sgn.co.uk .
