The following Alert is being circulated on behalf of SGN
I’m writing to let you know our plans to carry out a £615,000 project in the Doonholm Road area of Ayr to ensure the local community continues to receive a safe and reliable gas supply for many years to come.
Our contractor, Enerveo, has begun work for approximately 16 weeks to renew around 4.2km of old metallic gas main with new polyethylene PE pipe. Most of the work will be carried out by a mains insertion technique whereby we insert the new main inside the old one reducing the need to dig lengthy trenches in the road. To minimise disruption, we’re working closely with South Ayrshire Council to plan any necessary traffic management and will be implementing a phased approach as shown below:
Apart from a road closure on Bathurst Drive all other works will be under ‘give and take’.
We wish to assure you that our work will progress as quickly as possible and we’ll be doing everything we can to limit delays and disruption and to ensure the project remains on schedule, working extended hours or at weekends as required. Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.
We’re writing to residents and other local stakeholders to make them aware of our project and explain the details of our work. Please feel free to also share this information with anyone you think may be impacted by our project.
I will keep you updated as the project progresses. In the meantime, thank you in advance for your support and please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.
