The following information is being circulated on behalf of Police Scotland
2023 has seen a rise in reports of fly-tipping in the Scottish Borders, notably in Selkirkshire but also further afield. Whilst an associated media appeal on 6/3/2023 regarding a suspect white coloured Ford Tipper like vehicle was well received and offered up numerous fresh lines of enquiry, local community officers advise continued vigilance. This suspect vehicle is still believed to be active across the whole of the Scottish Borders.
Related waste is predominately of the gardening and landscaping variety, however, domestic and refrigerated type waste is also suspected. Dumping occurs usually in dusk or evening hours and is not confined solely to land areas. Suspects also known to dump in the roadway creating obvious risk.
Further sightings of this or indeed any other vehicle(s) seen in similar suspicious circumstances should be reported to Police Scotland on 101 or via Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
