The following information is being circulated on behalf of Police Scotland, J Division
On Monday 27th March, Midlothian Community Action Team Officers were enforcing restrictions in Croft Street, Dalkeith in the area of Kings Park Primary School. During this time a 43 year old female driver was issued with a conditional offer after being observed driving in the street during the restricted period. Please be aware of these restrictions and if you require to enter this area do so out with the restricted times, unless exempt.
In the early hours of Tuesday 28th March a property and a silver Vauxhall Corsa were damaged in Woodburn Drive, Dalkeith.
On Tuesday 28th March a male was charged by police in connection with driving without insurance in the North Wynd area of Dalkeith. The vehicle was also seized.
Around 10.30pm on Tuesday 28th March a report was received of drivers speeding within Sheriffhall Park and Ride, and a small fire having been lit on the grass verge. Officers attended and spoke with the drivers of the vehicles present, which were parked. There was no fire or offences detected, whilst officers were present.
In the early hours of the morning of Wednesday 29th March a vehicle and power tools were stolen from Dalkeith Country Park, the vehicle was subsequently recovered. Enquiries are ongoing.
In the early hours of the morning on Friday 31st March a motorbike was found by a member of the public in Danderhall. Officers attended and on carrying out enquiries established that the bike had been stolen. Enquiries are ongoing.
Around 12.30 pm on Friday 31st March a theft of fuel was reported from a garage in the Lauder Road area of Dalkeith. Enquiries are ongoing.
Around 8.50pm on Friday 31st March police received a call regarding a group of youths between the ages of 12 and 14 years reported to be under the influence of alcohol involved in anti-social behaviour in the area of Tesco’s Hardengreen. Officers attended, however there were no youths present. Officers will continue to carry out patrols in this area.
Around 10.45 pm on Friday 31st March a window of a property at Bruce Gardens, Dalkeith was damaged. Enquiries are ongoing.
On Friday 31st March an 18 year old female was issued with a recorded police warning after being found by police in possession of a small amount of cannabis in Bonnyrigg Road, Dalkeith.
Around 7.35 pm on Saturday 1st April a report was received of a large group of youths causing a disturbance in the area of Tesco’s Dalkeith. Officers attended, where a number of youths made off. A female youth who was on a nearby bus, and under the influence of alcohol, shouting and swearing, making threats and kicking out at bus furniture was arrested and charged after failing to desist, and left in the care of a parent.
On Saturday 1st April a report was received of a theft from shop premises in Thorny Crook Gardens, Dalkeith. Enquiries are ongoing.
NEWTONGRANGE / MAYFIELD:
Between 5am and 5.20am on Monday 27th March, milk was stolen from the door step of a property in the Square, Newtongrange.
Around 11.45am on Thursday 30th March a window at a house in Anderson Avenue, Newtongrange was smashed. Several youths were seen running away from the locus around the time of the incident. Enquiries are ongoing.
Around 12.35pm on Thursday 30th March a theft of fuel was reported from garage premises in Mayfield Road. Enquiries are ongoing.
Around 1am on Saturday 1st April a window of a property at Pinewood Place, Mayfield was damaged. Enquiries are ongoing.
Between 8pm and 9pm on Tuesday 28th March a window at a property in Birkenside was reported to have been damaged, possibly by a BB gun. Enquiries are ongoing.
Around 6.15pm on Friday 31st March a group of youths reported to have been drinking and involved in anti-social behaviour on buses were reported to be running on the roads at Station Road, Gorebridge, throwing items from the rail bridge onto the rail track. Officers attended and carried out a search of the area, however were unable to trace the youths.
On Sunday 2nd April a report was received of a field with crops near to Gorebridge having been damaged by a vehicle. Enquiries are ongoing.
