Hot and cooling ashes can be a fire and carbon monoxide hazard.

To ensure safe disposal of stove ash, allow adequate time for cooling after a fire. Also, keep the stove door closed until the ash is cool. Remember to have the correct equipment on hand, like safety gloves.
