About 9 Alert 9 Frost Jacking

Good Afternoon{FULL_NAME}

Following last week’s cold snap and as we look ahead into winter and the prospect of frosty weather, Police Scotland would like to help prepare you to keep yourself and your vehicles safe from opportunist theft.

It has been noted that across the country may drivers have left their vehicles unattended whilst defrosting the windscreen and warming the interior, unfortunately in a few instances this has resulted in the vehicles being stolen.

Please remember:

  • Not to leave your vehicles unattended whilst they are running at any time.
  • Stock up on driving essentials such as de-icer, window scrapers and winter screen wash.
  • If using an app to start your vehicle in cold weather please ensure your vehicle remains locked.
  • Never drive off until your wind screen has cleared.
  •

    Stay safe, and warm this winter and follow these simple steps to protect your vehicles.
